To access a location, you simply walk into it and the area will load. The Near Future’s hub world is a giant, traversable map of the city, with Akira able to walk to locations to advance the story, fight enemies or explore. Let’s quickly run through how this hub world works. Leave the orphanage and head out to the hub world. Inside you’ll find Kaori crying about her turtle.Īkira will offer to speak to Doctor Tobei about the turtle, and so we have our next destination. Head to the west side of the building and enter the last door at the end of the hallway. Watanabe will then tell you that Kaori is upset about her pet turtle’s illness.
After it's done, Watanabe will return with the medical supplies, handing you a First Aid Kit. A cutscene will trigger, with Yuki knocking into Akira. Head back to the TV, stand directly in front of the screen and press A. You’ll want to head back to the hallway and enter the first door south of Akira when heading down the west corridor. After Akira notes that Watanabe's been gone for a while, go look for him. Watanabe will reluctantly agree, leaving to find the items.

Akira will ask him to raid Taeko’s room for something to patch him up. Speak to Watanabe ( the kid sat on the far left). Once the conversation has concluded, head to the right-hand side of the orphanage and look for a group of kids watching wrestling on the television. As you enter the main corridor, a cutscene will trigger, with Akira speaking to Taeko.
The scene will then cut to a gloriously over-the-top intro sequence before we arrive back at the orphanage.Īfter speaking to Lawless, head inside the orphanage. After Lawless climbs on his bike, read his mind and then Akira will climb onto the back of the vehicle. Once the move has been executed, use both characters' various kicks and strikes to wipe the board clear.Īfter the fight is finished, Akira will thank Lawless, who will offer him a lift back to the orphanage. Use Mother’s Shame to damage the majority of the bikers (and potentially wipe a few out if you’re lucky). The majority of Akira’s attacks rely on his psychic abilities, while Lawless has a honed arsenal of physical attacks. This fight shouldn’t be too difficult, although it’s a good excuse to get used to Akira and Lawless’ move sets. This is our first taste of Akira’s fighting skills.
